During this workshop, participants will create a slow stitch piece of wall art that you will make out of unique fabric designed by Roxy Creations, laces and coordinating old and new fabrics. You will be shown how to work on your composition using old doilies, fabrics and laces. Participants will be taught the basics of slow stitching, applique and embroidery to complete your project.
Participants will be provided with all supplies needed for the day including a generous kit which has enough supplies for you to finish your piece of wall art. Packs will include a combination of fabrics mostly from Roxy Creations as well as other fabric scraps, laces, and threads, etc. Please be aware that most of the supplies will be vintage/old so may have signs of aging. This is the style that this project will be based on.
Participants do not need to bring any extra supplies, however if you have some old scraps of fabric or trims that you love and would like to use, please feel free to bring a small amount along to incorporate into your project. You only need small pieces for this project.
Slow stitching allows you to enjoy the process of hand sewing a variety of textiles together to make your own unique pieces. We do not follow set patterns but are rather guided by our supplies and what we like. Each slow stitched wall art piece will be different depending on the supplies in your kit and how you use them.
No sewing experience is necessary to take part in this workshop.
