Join Fleur & Zoe for a truly blissful 5 days exploring nature's textures with thread, clay and paint.
Connect with fellow fibre lovers, learn new techniques and create your own unique stitched artwork. Imagine recreating the textures you love in nature with fibre, thread and paint. Coral reefs, rockpools, forest moss, native bush, and outback textures, the options are endless.
We will use punch needle and hand stitching processes to create texture as well as build our own clay beads and bring in paint/ink to add to our neutral fibres to make the work come to life with colour.
As well as all the stitching loveliness we’ve added in a few optional extras to enhance your deep dive week long experience.
Tuesday before class we’ll take an early morning walk to the local waterfall, taking in nature at its best, visiting an aboriginal birthing pool and taking a moment or 2 to reflect. If the weather is awful this will be postponed, but pack a rain mac just in case. Meeting at 8am.
On Wednesday – those that wish to partake will pack up our stitching at 2.30 to head, in convoy. to Bowral to visit Dirty Janes Emporium – the best in vintage shopping.
On the Thursday evening we’ll enjoy a dinner out together at the historic Robertson Public House.
5 Day Natures Textures Deluxe Deep Dive

Price includes all materials and lunch each day and the dinner out.
My goal is to meet you where you are at as an individual creative and support you to grow gently but surely towards joyful mark-making using my favourite techniques.
Generous supplies are offered that you are gifted to take home with you to continue creating whenever you like using all my favourite tools from beautiful hand dyed wools to curated colour palettes and quality tools.
Stitching is a slow practice so we will embrace that pace and while we're in slow-down mode there will also be the opportunity for a lazy lunch, time for a wander and a quiet cuppa and chats with your fellow work-shoppers or for those who are just obsessed there's the option to keep creating while you eat.
It's your time to do as you please with generous knowledge-sharing and support from Fleur.
Experience is not essential for this workshop however a basic understanding of how to thread a needle and make simple stitches will get you off to an easier start.
If you're a practising creative or someone who stitches regularly this workshop offers a great opportunity to try new ways of working and 'free-up' your approach as my style encourages you to learn more about what sparks joy for you and follow those things to identify your own individual style.

Fleur Woods is a contemporary fibre artist, seeker of joy and lover of nature. Based in rural Aotearoa New Zealand Fleur is back to Green Door Studios after her sell-out workshop series in 2023. Fleur's colourful, joyful and often intricate stitched paintings are celebrated around the world and collected keenly. Sharing her process generously to encourage and support others to create gives Fleur a sense of purpose. Fleur spends her time teaching workshops around NZ & Australia, creating work and kits in her home studio and working on collaborative projects like her Soul Sister designs with Saben and her book, The Untamed Thread, with Koa Press and her offerings with Fibre Arts Take Two.
