This Class Sold Out - Next Class is 19th May 24
Ever wondered what to do with that one ball of wool left over from your latest knitting project?
Annie Holcombe has just the craft for you.
A frame, piece of hessian, a hook and imagination, you can make yourself a floor mat, cushion cover or wall hanging ….. let your imagination go wild..
Rug hooking has been around for hundreds of years. It became very popular in the 19th Century in England. Every home had a hearth and there was always the latest rug in front of the fire. Scraps of worn out clothes were often cut up into strips and hooked into old feed sacks or hessian (Burlap).
Now days you can buy woollen material and then cut it into strips and off you go. (Mostly in America)
We prefer to do it the more cost effective way using left over wool.
